High-Performance Stainless Steel TIG Welding Rod: ER347 is used for welding AISI types 304, 304L, 321 and 347 where   maximum corrosion resistance is required. 347 contains columbium which acts as a stabilizer against carbide precipitation thereby eliminating intergranular corrosion.

ER347 TIG wire is best for welding stabilized austenitic stainless steels, especially grades like:

• 321 stainless steel
• 347 stainless steel
• Some applications involving 304 stainless steel and 304H stainless steel where elevated temperatures are involved.

ER347 contains niobium (columbium), which helps resist:

• carbide precipitation,
• intergranular corrosion,
• and cracking after repeated heat cycles.

That makes it common in:

• exhaust systems,
• turbo manifolds,
• pressure vessels,
• boilers,
• chemical processing equipment,
• and high-temperature pipework.

Compared with common fillers:

• ER308L TIG wire → general 304 stainless work.
• ER316L TIG wire → marine/corrosion resistance.
• ER347 → better for sustained high heat and stabilized stainless grades.

• Excellent up to roughly 800–900°C intermittent service.
